Camp Squanto and the Dark Knight

There was a huge thunder and lightening storm the last night of his camp, which also happened to be the opening night for Dark Knight. Ray and I went out for an extra date night (the night before, we went to Rod Dee, his favorite Thai restaurant where we had our first date). The Dark Knight definitely lives up to its definition. It is one of the darker Batman movies, but is fascinating as it delves into the psyche of the human mind. It's really quite a deep look into your sub-conscious and gave us lots to think about on our drive home as we watched the orange moon hide between the clouds bearing beautiful heat lightening.

Jacob spent his 11th birthday at Camp Squanto with the boy scouts. This was his first week long, sleep away camp and he had a BLAST! (He said he only got a little homesick twice :-) He got to shoot at a target range, use arrows, had canoe wars (hence the black eye!) and got his basketry and art badge as well as his Camp Squanto badge for his scouts shirt. He is in the process of his tenderfoot badge. I have had quite the time becoming a "mom" very quickly and part of that process is sewing badges on is scout shirt. I'm so slow when it comes to home making stuff, but I am learning!

Happy Birthday Jake! Sorry the Vegas Sewells are so bad at sending cards! We love Thai food! If we ever make it out to Boston again, you'll have to take us to that restaurant!
