School's Out for the Summer!

So, the "Boston Sewell's" are following suit and creating a blog....starting with summer adventures. We'll see what kind of trouble we can get into!

RAY and LEANNA

We're planning on a trip to Utah in August to visit friends and family. Stay posted with more exciting events. We have been so busy this year that even breathing was usually an effort. We hit the pavement running after the wedding and until school got out a couple of weeks ago, it was constantly busy. I had many concerts to plan this year and Ray even became "Mr. Pink" as the year went on with my students. He even chaperoned the NYC festival with me. I had a successful, but challenging year and Ray supported me every step of the way.
With the summer and free time, I have been decorating the house and almost took my head off with the running ceiling fan, but all is well and a minor scar to show for it.

Below are pictures from performances with the middle and high school choir students.

JACOB AND RACHEL
The Last day of school (for all of us) was June 20th! Rachel had a beautiful promotional ceremony from the 8th grade to the high school and received two certificates of achievement: leadership award and academic award for keeping an A- average all four years. Jacob finished his first year at the Ahern Middle School as a 5th grader with all A's and B's on is final report card and having played his first year of trumpet and baseball as a right fielder and 3rd baseman. He had some great hits this year too.

Jake and Rachel are busy at Bay Colony's summer theater camp from June 23 - July 11. Their final performance of MULAN will be on July 11 at the Orpheum Theater in Foxboro. Rachel is playing the role of "Captain Shang" and Jake is playing "Chien-Po."

Jake and Rachel will be flying out to Las Vegas to visit their Uncle Jeremy and Aunt Susie, and Cousin Nathan and Noelle. They will then meet their grandparents in St. George before heading up to Salt Lake City to meet up with the rest of our family.

Jacob went on his first camping trip with Ray and the scouts on June 20th and they had a great time. Ray got a lot of new camping gear for Father's Day and they used it all. We are hoping to plan a bigger camping event for us this summer, but Jacob will be going on his first week long scouts camping trip the week of his birthday in July.

Wow, you guys sound busy!!! It's great to see everyone involved with whatever they love most. Sorry Jacob, I sucked at baseball, I'm glad to see you're not in right field (my only position), maybe some Sewell out there can make a decent baseball name for us. Rachel, A's at school and performing in theater, sounds like you've already bested me. Anyway, Ray, keep doing what you do best (everything) and Leanna it's great to have you in the family. We're looking forward to August!

I am so happy you have joined the blogging world. It is definitely a blast and a good way to keep in touch. We are going to try to get to Utah the Saturday before you leave.
